A planned bout between Rafael Cavalcante and Ovince St. Preux[2] was scrapped.[3]
Evangelista Santos was originally scheduled to fight Tarec Saffiedine.[4] Saffiedine, however, was pulled from the bout and replaced by Paul Daley.[5] However, Santos was forced out of his bout with Daley due to a shoulder injury.[6] Saffiedine instead faced Scott Smith.[7] Undefeated welterweight Tyron Woodley stepped in to replace Santos against Daley.[8]
Roger Gracie was originally scheduled to face Muhammed Lawal at the event.[9] However, the bout was rescheduled for September 10, 2011 at Strikeforce 36 after Gracie suffered a training injury.[10]
Ronda Rousey and Sarah D'Alelio were originally scheduled to fight on this card,[11] but their bout was later moved to Strikeforce Challengers: Gurgel vs. Duarte.
Lyle Beerbohm was originally scheduled to face Gesias Cavalcante, but was replaced by Bobby Green on July 19, 2011.[12]
The bout between Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate was originally scheduled to be for the Women's Welterweight belt, but due to complaints from Zuffa in order to keep all weight classes the same, the bout was changed to a Bantamweight Championship bout. [13]
